Hair Talk - Pumpkin is Somethin'

Oh wow! My hair looks so shiny and healthy that I needed to share this wicked DIY hair mask recipe. Truth be told, I love hairspray. I'm a hairspray addict. I have fine hair so my flyway, curl-hold solution is hairspray. Obviously this has havoc on my hair. It's dry and it definitely lacks luster. If this is you, you absolutely MUST try this recipe!

  • 1 can of pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup of organic coconut oil (at room temperature)
  • 2 tbsp or organic honey (a room temperature)
  • 5 drops of organic rosemary essential oil

Pumpkin is a superfood, which is packed full of antioxidants like Vitamin C and E, magnesium and potassium. Vitamin C repairs hair from environmental damage while Vitamin E moisturizes and soothes and encourages hair growth as well. Magnesium and potassium combat hair loss. We all know the wonders of coconut oil! It's the mother of all moisturizers! And honey, it's a humectant, which means it naturally retains and preserves moisture, and can't help but restore shine to dry, damaged hair. Rosemary essential oil stimulates new hair growth.

This recipe is messy, so be aware of your surroundings. Mix all of the contents together and whisk. It should have the consistency of conditioner. Apply at the crown and smooth mixture down and all over. Wind up into a knot and wrap your head in saran to encourage heat, which opens the hair follicle. I left mine on for 30 minutes. Enjoy! The results are amazing.
